David Daniel Tanner was born in 1838 in Kirtland, Ohio to John and Elizabeth Beswick Tanner. They were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and immigrated to Utah in 1848. David Dan married Rebecca Moore (1844-1929) in 1861. They had fourteen children. He married Leatha Susan Taylor (1842-1924) in 1870 as a plural wife. They had four children who survived infancy. David Dan and Leatha were divorced in 1882. David Dan died in 1918 and is buried in Payson, Utah. Contains histories of David Dan's descendants, particularly the family of his son John Myron Tanner and his wife Lois Ann Stevens. Descendants live in Utah, Idaho, California, Arizona, and throughout the United States.
